Iron Yard Automatically Maps Who's Really In the Room on Every Deal

Buying Committee assembles itself from CRM contacts, calendar attendees and email participants — then infers who's the champion, who's the economic buyer, and who's just cc'd.

Iron Yard today announced Buying Committee, a feature that automatically builds a picture of every stakeholder on a deal without a rep ever filling in a contact role by hand.

"Every rep already knows in their head who the real decision-maker is on a deal. The problem was that knowledge lived in their head, not the CRM. Now it's written down automatically, and it's there for the next person who needs it."

Committee, referenced everywhere in the app

Every person who shows up in the deal's CRM contacts, calendar invites, or email thread is pulled into a single candidate committee. Iron Yard then looks at engagement patterns — who replies, who shows up to calls, who goes quiet — to infer each person's likely role: Champion, Economic Buyer, Technical Decision-Maker, and more. Managers can override any inferred role by hand whenever they know better.

The committee isn't a standalone page nobody visits — it's stored alongside the deal's health score, factored into qualification, and referenced in every coaching conversation about that deal. Engagement stats are tracked per contact: interaction count, type, and first and last touch, so a champion who's gone quiet for two weeks is visible at a glance rather than buried in an activity log.

Drag-and-drop lets a manager correct a role the moment they spot it wrong — the system proposes, the human decides.
